International Women’s Day is around the corner on March 8 worldwide, celebrating the achievements of women. Over the years, the approach of women’s day celebration has evolved and embraced the culture and it became a celebration of appreciation, respect and love towards women. Nowadays Women’s Day is celebrated in schools and it is included as an integral part of the curriculum to spread the awareness of women empowerment, their roles and achievements. Not only in words, our objective of celebrating women’s day should be able to build a better world where men and women live harmoniously, free of violence and discrimination.
Initially, women’s day was just an event and then started as a political affair that has evolved into a celebration by gifting cards, flowers in most regions. It was first celebrated in 1909 in the United States and in 1977 that the United Nations officially declared International Women’s Day celebration on March 8 International Women’s Day has been declared an official holiday in several countries.
Mother life was dedicated to charity and humanitarian work. She is one of the most selfless people to have ever lived and she won the Nobel peace prize in the year 1979.
